What you’ll need:
- Pour-over (gooseneck) kettle
- Coffee press
- Mug/Cup
- Spoon
- Tablespoon
- Your favorite ground Cafe Leyenda coffee, like the Columbian Blend, ground to a coarse grind size
- Water
Water to coffee ratio:
- 2 tablespoon coarse ground coffee per 6 fluid ounce water (10 gram per 180 milliliter)
Instructions:
- Prepare your coffee press. Preheat the coffee press by rinsing with hot water. (Don’t forget to discard the water before adding the grounds.)
- Add the coarse ground coffee. Use 2 Tbsp (10 g) of grounds for every cup (6 fl oz, 180 ml) of water. Add the ground coffee to the empty coffee press. (For this brewing method, use a coarse grind to produce a rich flavor without bitterness.)
- Pour water to just below the rim. For the best brew, use water that’s 30 seconds off the boil. (Water temperature affects how efficiently coffee flavors are pulled from the grounds. The ideal temperature for brewing with a coffee press should be between 195–205°F.)
- Saturate the grounds. Gently stir the grounds a few times with a spoon. One or two stirs is plenty.
- Secure the lid & wait. Let the coffee brew for about 4 minutes.
- Steadily push the plunger down. Separate the coffee from the grounds by slowly pressing the plunger down.
- Pour & savor your coffee at home. Take in the aroma and enjoy your fresh cup of coffee!
Quick Tips:
Brewing with a coffee press is also called full-immersion brewing, as the grounds are immersed for the entire brew.
Make sure to clean the grounds stuck in the filter after every use. This will help your next coffee taste as good as the one before it.
